Guest Speaker

Dr. Leo Murphy

Dr. Leo Murphy is a Professor of Aeronautical Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, having transitioned to academia upon completion of a 30-year career as a Naval Flight Officer.  He is the 23rd recipient of the prestigious Christa McAuliffe Award as the National Aerospace Teacher of the Year and he is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.  Dr. Murphy is the author of four books on aviation history, including his latest work, a biography of a Tuskegee Airman, which was awarded the George Washington Honor Medal for its significant contributions to American history.  He has delivered numerous lectures on Amelia Earhart, including presentations at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
